This game is the latest revision of the Guilty Gear XX series. Some characters have had minor tweaks (Sol), while some other characters have been completely reworked (Testament).

New Characters

Kliff and Justice have been added to the game, thus making this the first time both characters are tournament legal. They have been in previous console releases as tournament-illegal bonus characters.

  •  Justice is the original villain of Guilty Gear, based off of Tekkaman Blade. Justice has been radically altered from her previous iterations into a slow and plodding, but high damage zoning character.
  •  Kliff Undersn is the oldest playable human character in Guilty Gear. He is the resident geezer with a cleaver, but uses the power of magic to temporarily restore his youth - and turn his pants into shorts - during his overdrives.

Universal Information

Selecting AC+R on Console

By default, the game will not be set to AC+R. To change it to AC+R, navigate to Help & Options > Game Settings > Version and select AC+R

Afterwards, you should see ver R on the bottom right of the main menu. The title screen will also show the AC+R logo if you go back to the Title Screen, but strangely will show the regular AC logo when you first start up the game.

Saving the game afterwards should keep the game on AC+R by default.

Tier List

Tier lists are made to give a general idea of the character strength. They do not decide the strength of the character, and do not decide who can or will win a given match. Tier lists help act as a basic point to understand which characters have more matchups in which they are advantaged against another character when played at their highest potential.

Characters in the lowest tier have more glaring weaknesses than mid or upper tier characters, but +R is both complex and balanced enough that characters considered weaker are still plenty strong and can and have won majors.
