Sorry if this comes off as rude but why have you basically rewritten the Adult Gohan and Super Saiyan Goku from scratch? Months of edits from many different user (including myself) have been completely deleted and replaced with very bare-bones descriptions, many of which are a single line or even just the placeholders. I understand that perhaps you thought the descriptions needed to be trimmed down or made simpler but I don't think that necessitated the complete revision of entire pages. Please help me understand so we can compromise on how these pages should be made so that other players can get the most help in improving their abilities in-game. Thanks in advance.
It's not just AGohan and SS Goku but I've done it with all characters from A16 to TGohan too, it's just that I know some characters more than others.
I'm only removing:
- Basic info that has already been described elsewhere. Like autocombo being described in the Offense section, gatling being in the Frame Data pages, etc. Most autocombos are borderline combo/blockstring filler so unless they have anything stands out I don't think it's worth mentioning.
- Descriptions of the attacks. We already have screenshots and short frame data for that.
- Most memes.
I'm also adding back things like updated frame data, techs and noteworthy quirks... I just don't wanna write a fancy paragraph over every single attack in the game when a short sentence would've been enough.
Imo DBFZ section of Dustloop is too bloated and many people have expressed frustration over this but nobody want to fix it. I'm just trying to make it cleaner and more in line with the other, better sections like GG and BB.
Thanks for the explanation. While I might not agree with how the pages are now I imagine its because you plan to include more info and what is currently available on the the character pages isn't the final version.
The only thing that still seems confusing to me is that you list that BB and GG have better sections when many of their character pages have incomplete or non-existent descriptions (some are literally using the default text line). Some characters have beefier descriptions while others are hardly have even a complete sentence for most of their moves. The reason why some DBFZ pages are longer is because they have actually been filled out and include more technical uses for moves other than "is an anti-air" or "combos into X normal". The character pages are meant to have a good sum of info there, otherwise we shouldn't have them at all and instead direct wiki viewers to each character's frame data page instead (which has much shorter lines of info that only describe the move's properties).
Sorry if I crossed a line. I kinda assumed I'm the only one updating anything new to DBFZ.
The only reason why I'm going around removing things is because there are too many repetitive info, like "Goku charges a short distance and throws out a haymaker", "Goku does 2 hits of a flying kick" repeated 3 times for each version.
Something like "Goku does an upward kick that, unlike his other air normals, is not an overhead." Well we can see in the screenshots that it is an upward kick, and we can see that it's Guard All, so I don't see why that sentence is needed at all. Describing the move is fine when the screenshots themselves can't properly do that, but a simple upward kick doesn't need to be described right?
Or "This move will only provide a sliding knockdown if the move that used Goku's Smash was a 2H, j.2H, or 5LLL. If j.H would have produced a sliding knockdown connects but the combo is then extended (like through a vanish), then all knockdowns (except those provided by supers) will be soft knockdowns." is already explained elsewhere. I just don't see the need to re-explain that here.
Thanks for being understanding about this. I'll help reintroduce some of the old info back to the pages I'm more familiar with (i.e. SS Goku and A Gohan) and keep the redundancy to a minimum. If it still feels to wordy feel free to edit them into something more concise.
Say, do you have a discord account? sthkn, the guy who runs this wiki, has a discord for folks like us who edit this wiki a lot and I feel that you fit in right at home there.
