    The Orie thing he's talking about is the tk. j.2C pressure that you see Nishine etc. do a lot, where the momentum can sometimes cause you to cross sides and you can land and perform a low, or do j.214b before landing. It's entirely unrelated to what's being discussed here, and falls well within what crossup protection allows (see 4-way okizeme in melty, with high/low/crossup low/throw).

    You may need to spell this out for some of us, 'cause even with 4 semesters of JP, I have no idea how to say that to understand what you're getting at. Prolly just a personal issue, but some of us are pretty dense.

    A lot of BBCP 2.0's less desirable changes may have made it, but if we want to talk about BB loketests in general, there are probably over a hundred bizarre and questionable changes that were in loketests over the course of BB's lifespan that never made it anywhere near the final game. (And that's not really an exaggeration, considering how many loketests BB's had.) Of course, the real changes were sometimes just as odd, but the loketests were often poor indicators of the final product. That's what I want to point out here. As per the other, "don't waste emotion" is, in that context, just another way of saying "no need to lose your cool."

    Re: mods being funpolice: Sometimes, people forget what loketest means. That is happening pretty badly right now. Most people tend not to take first loketest changes very seriously, and neither should you. Most ArcSys loketests are the equivalent of throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what sticks; while most of these system changes are probably in there for good, a lot of the character-specific changes are, well, likely to change. So losing our collective cool over things that aren't likely to stay is a waste of time and emotion.

    IMO, if reversal BS ends up anything like wakeup shield in melty, it'll be no big deal. The thing keeping you from spamming wakeup shield in melty is the fact that, at least half the time, you just lose to completely indistinguishable options. The risk/reward on it is bad, so people don't do it often at all. BS should (hopefully) be the same, since it costs a ton of meter and puts you in CH state. The main issue I see in making this comparison, though, is that more than just overheads will beat low shield in Melty (since almost all non-a standing normals in Melty have to be shielded high). You can normally make someone stop shielding on wakeup in Melty just by meatying/throwing them a few times in a row, but I'm not sure how universally available a good, indistinguishable option for meatying people overhead and blowing up low BS is. EDIT: In addition to the above, the other potential issue I see with the comparison is that there are several anti-shield OSes to keep you from getting hit on some (but not all) successful shields from your opponent in Melty.

    This is hilarious. Console hasn't even been out two months. The ArcSys cycle is so real. It's probably unrelated, but it's doubly hilarious that it was just a day or two after the EVO announcements, too.

    It's like Melty x KoF. GRD is the most unique mechanic, and it's kind of hard to explain in one sentence, but if you watch a matchvid, it's the "tug of war" game that grants the timestop and damage bonuses to the winner every cycle of the circle in the center of the gauge that looks like the EVO symbol. 4 button layout, with the fourth used for system mechanics (ala Melty).

    More Linne? Literally has Leo, Yomi, Tottoko, and Index. Fuse is playing Wald, so the only strong Linne player not in right now is Jikangire.

    It's just inevitable hype backlash. As much as people joke about it being God's Gift , it's not a perfect game. Of course, none of our games are -- we should acknowledge that -- but Xrd had a rather sizable hype train behind it, and ArcSys hasn't handled the game as well as we'd hoped in two important departments (PS3 port, release week netplay). The negativity will die down as we get used to how things really are as compared to what we expected, and also as the netplay gets patched to playability.
