Beginner Combos

Beginner.png Basic combos are simple combos with the fewest requirements and conditions possible. They:
  • Work against every, or almost every, character in the game
  • Can be performed from most positions in the play area
  • Require few adjustments, and if any are required they are simple


Knockback
Very Easy

5X4X
Dr. Paradigm's 5XXX doesn't naturally knockdown which leaves him in a very disadvantageous position in every match up except the mirror match.

This only works at very close ranges so you probably won't land this often as 6X is faster than 5X for close ranges. Still it's good to know this exists in cases you need the knockback.

Knockdown
Very Easy

6X5X > Modern Cancel > 2X
Dr. Paradigm's 5XXX and 6X5XX don't naturally knockdown which leaves him in a very disadvantageous position in every match up except the mirror match.

With 2X knockdown Paradigm has time to get away or go for oki. If you are close enough ending with 4X instead of 2X will buy you more time and do more damage but you won't inflict the bomb status effect.

Rapid-Fire
Very Easy

5XXX > Rapid Fire
Dr. Paradigm often has surplus mana for items. Rapid Fire A consumable Item that when used acts a a special move shooting rapid series of projectiles. is a great way to get knockdown and distance on the opponent with time to set up Bonnie 8Y where they wake up.

If you special cancel early on 5XX then this leaves the opponent standing. There is room for creativity in using this to put more damaging enders on your combo or going into an unblockable with 8X.

If you want to use Heavy Feet A consumable Item that when used acts a a special move shooting a projectile that causes a slow debuff on enemy Masters or Mouth Zipper A consumable Item that when used acts a a special move shooting a projectile that causes a silence debuff on enemy Masters preventing them from using Skills & Items then you need to special cancel 5XX instead of 5XXX as the opponent has time to block the later.

Get Out
Medium

6X5X > Modern Cancel > Get Out of Here
As with most of Paradigm's combos up to this point you can do this with 5XX or 6X5X. Since this combo is spacing dependent the later is easier to do.

This combo use Get Out of Here A purchasable skill of Dr. Paradigm's which acts as a special move which is a short range unblockable that throws the opponent a long distance to send the opponent flying away. Good for helping Paradigm get away or giving him time to setup Gate GunnersA purchasable skill which summons Gate Gunner or Bonnie 2Y/4Y/5Y/6Y/8Y

This Combo can be done without the Modern Cancel if you are close enough but regardless of how you do it you will probably need to walk forward a little bit in most cases before using Get Out of Here.
