In the original RPG game's story, Naoto Shirogane is an male-presenting girl who is a famous high-school detective, given the glorious title of "Detective Prince" by the media. Orphaned at a young age and raised by her detective grandfather, she yearns to emulate the cool male sleuths she read in novels, accepting the family tradition and aiding her grandfather in his own cases, eventually creating a favorable reputation for herself. She was sent to Inaba by the prefecture police, to gain insight for the murders happening there. She was the fifth person thrown into the Midnight Channel, with his Shadow impersonating her on TV. Her unique gimmick is her Fate mechanic, in which the opponent can be killed instantly by her Light/Dark supers if they have had their Fate Gauge reduced to zero.
