Persona 4: Arena Ultimax Remaster
Persona 4: Arena Ultimax Remastered is a home console version of the 2.0 update to Persona 4: Arena Ultimax that was originally only released for Japanese arcades. This version makes major changes to the systems and rebalances all the characters. In Japan, the game is being released as Persona 4: The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold Remaster while the West kept the original Persona 4: Arena Ultimax name. For convenience, we are using the "Remaster" tag to help distinguish between this release and the previous version.
Which character should I pick? Where can I find match videos? Isn't this game all about Shadow characters nowadays?
Find the answers to these frequently asked questions on the aptly-named Frequently Asked Questions page.
If you are curious about the changes that the game has gotten between the previous version of the game and this one, view the Patch Notes page here. (NOT FULLY TRANSLATED)
- Shadow Type Character
Shadow Type has been changed from the first Ultimax, giving them more flexibility, but also making Shadow Frenzy more difficult to use.
- Shadows can now Burst
- Shadow Frenzy now costs Burst and converts current SP into a timer that works the same as the previous game. The more SP, the longer Shadow Frenzy lasts.
- Opponent can not Burst during Shadow Frenzy
- Shadows no longer carry SP across rounds
P4U2R Frame Data / General Information Update Progress
Since this re-release is the first time that Western players have legally had their hands on the 2.0 update to P4U2, please bear with us as we spend time updating the wiki to match and expand upon the current version. Many character pages are populated with placeholder data from the previous version 1.1, which may or may not be completely correct since not all technical data and moveset information has differed between versions. You can and should double check information on any page that has maintenance tags with various sources, such as the aforementioned Patch Notes page, the Ultimax Discord, and also alongside doing your own research in training mode to determine accuracy of the results you desire and possibly help update information yourself as well. Any amount of editing helps!
Here is a general log of progress on updates to the wiki:
- MASSIVE UPDATE
- As of 6/15/2022, ALL characters now have their frame data updated to be consistent with P4U2R!
You can thank "shtkn" for his efforts in collecting this updated data!
- Pages in express need of clean-up, re-writing, or review
All of these pages severely lack information or expertise past a surface level, and could very well use a face-lift from any character specialists willing to do so.
