Overview

Overview

The strongest of the warriors, full of special specifications. It is armed with suppression power using its support form (funnel) as a shield and a strong flying rush. The flight rush is a strong attack with a guard point and two choices of middle and lower guard several times in a row. When it is broken, he can use a combo called "funnel loop" to recover his reinforcements and repeat the flight rush again. Although it does not have a long-lasting effect, once it gets into this pattern, it can crush the opponent without allowing him to do anything. Although its huge size tends to make it difficult to attack, it can get up and attack because it has excellent rampage and guard cancel attacks that do not require any skill. Although it is necessary to understand the difficult special specifications, there is not much to do, and it is recommended for those who like to work hard and just follow the pattern. The crying point is that when Ieyasu is kidnapped, all actions are restricted and he is weakened.

Pros
Cons
  • Insanely Good Offense: His offensive performance is villainy, has solo high/low mixups with his Flight Mode (421A), big buttons that covers basically half of the screen, bomb mines that can be detonated manually by hitting them and automatically.
  • Strong Space and Neutral Control: His buttons 5A, 5B, j.B and j.C are extremely efficient in mid-range along with bomb mines and Lasers (Engun) making characters hard to approach
  • High HP: He has the second best defense modifier in the game along with Hideyoshi making him tanky and durable
  • Fast Engun Gain Rate: He gets to level 100 really quick, he has the second fastest Engun gain/regen rate in the game
  • Glitches: He has a good amount and practical glitches to use in match, 63214A/B bug allows him to have armor that can last infinitely during the entire round/match, Flight Landing Bug for extended pressure, Attack Mode Cancel Bug to make moves that are punishable, safe on block and ways to not consume Boost Meter.
  • Big Body: He has one of the biggest hurtboxes in the game along with Hideyoshi due to how tall he is making him extremely easy getting hit by instant overheads.
  • Polarizing Character: His momentum is heavily polarized, his offensive game can make the other player have serious problems along with armor, mixups, pokes and neutral but struggles a lot when he is on disadvantage.
  • Bad Defensive Options: Lacks good answers on the defensive side, his supers aren't truly a reversal at all while he has his big buttons it is not very useful in defense because they're very slow so you have to rely on system defensive options and more importantly JUST PG due to its pushback.
  • Unique Engun Disadvantage: He is extremely weakened without his Assist/Engun (Ieyasu). Ieyasu has an original system where he "sometimes gets kidnapped and taken away during battle". When it comes to this basically he's unable to take advantage of the lasers, all the Engun system mechanics like Engun Counter, Engun Hit Cancel and most importantly Boost Meter will dissapear, his most essential mechanic. He's unable to use his mobility options and he's unable to use Attack/Flight Mode. All of this is involved with Boost/Engun Meter and this is something that it has to be heavily considered since it's one of the most essential things in the game

Big halfscreen button, essential poking tool due to it's speed and hitbox, very safe to land it in neutral. You can special cancel it with 63214A/B to safely get guard point

Elaborate on further relevant uses. Explain the basics of why the initial purpose of the move is worth knowing or worth doing. Mention any crucial downsides that a new player needs to know about. If the move is particularly important it might have a spot on the stategy page—an important anti-air will likely be mentioned in the neutral section, or an important combo move will be mentioned in the combo theory.
