Azrael is one of the antagonists of BlazBlue. His Drive, TheGuardHighStartup21Recovery20Advantage-4 TerrorGuardLowStartup15Recovery12Advantage+2, reveals "weakpoints" on opponents that cause extra damage when the same weakpoint is hit again, boosting the effectiveness of the moves. Landing two weakpoints grants Azrael Valiant CrushGuardHigh/AirStartup25~56Recovery38Advantage-26 and Hornet BunkerGuardLow/AirStartup27~57Recovery24Advantage-13; moves that grant Azrael additional movement options and unlock new combo routes.
In the story, Azrael was a feared member of Sector Seven nicknamed The Mad Dog who was locked away because of his violent personality, the cause of incidents where he attacked everything in sight - friend and foe alike. He was released by his superiors and was given a new objective: Kill Kokonoe and Iron Tager and take Ragna the Bloodedge's Azure Grimiore. Of course, he doesn't care about his superiors' wishes, and only agreed just so he could fight strong opponents, like Ragna or the Six Heroes.
