You want to keep Zato-1 unable to use EddieHis shadow puppet in neutral and offense. Eddie is a powerful tool, so you should attempt to hit Eddie (without being hit yourself) before Zato can unleash his pressure.
Be aware that Zato-1 has great buttons to dominate you in the air game, so be careful. His j.KGuardHighStartup7Recovery11Advantage+1 (IAD) and j.DGuardHighStartup11Recovery22Advantage-7 (Airborne), alongside Eddie's LeapGuardAllStartup21 [25]Recovery34Advantage+46 are strong moves that you must be careful about. However, Bridget's 2HGuardAllStartup11Recovery24Advantage-18 and her air normals outrange them, so use them wisely. Whiffing is very risky, as LeapGuardAllStartup21 [25]Recovery34Advantage+46 is quickly able to take you down.
Zato-1 has one of the best 6P's in the game, so be wary of using 214KGuardAllStartup20~38Recovery0Advantage+16 (Airborne) too liberally.

Zato-1 doesn't have great defensive options, realistically only being able to use 6PGuardAllStartup12Recovery12Advantage-6 and 2KGuardLowStartup6Recovery13Advantage-3 to mash out of pressure. Keep Zato-1 in the blender with frame-traps and mixups, and he will die quickly.

Zato-1 with Eddie has one of the most oppressive pressure sequences in the game, where Eddie will most likely be behind you. Good Zato-1 players will attempt to open you up with a blockstring or a command grab, but this is the time to be calm. Bridget's 623PGuardAllStartup9Recovery39Advantage-28 can be used to get out of gaps in his pressure and/or killing Eddie. You can also jump out at the right time when Zato-1 goes for his command grab, so pay attention. If the Eddie Gauge turns red, Zato-1 will most likely attempt to go for a command grab to revive Eddie. This is the moment to jump out, as getting grabbed will reset you back to the defensive.
