Notation
Players use Numpad Notation when discussing directions used for melee attacks or button combinations although Japanese players use kanji for directions.
Universal Joystick Commands

- Boost Step. Boost step allows you to cut tracking on projectiles and melees. During melee attacks you are able to step cancel them.
- Guard. Self explanatory.
Universal Button Commands
- Boost Dash
- Double tapping the jump button () will allow you to perform a boost dash. If your stick is in neutral, you will boost dash in the direction your suit is facing. If you're holding a direction when you input a boost dash, you will dash in the direction of your input.
- Boost Dive
- Pressing the jump button and striker button simultaneously will allow you to perform a boost dive. Boost dives are basically a boost dash that sends you downwards very quickly.
- Sub Shot
- Pressing Shot+Melee (+) will perform your sub shot. Weapons that usually fill this slot are bazookas and funnels.
- Special Shot
- Pressing Shot+Jump (+) will perform your special shot. Gerobis and special movement usually fill this slot.
- Special Melee
- Pressing Melee+Jump (+) will perform your special melee.
Awakening
Pressing Shot + Melee + Jump (++) at the same time will allow you to use your "awakening" or "burst."

Awakening Attack
In awakening mode, pressing (++) again will perform your awakening attack. Awakening attacks have super armor on their startup and are unable to be cancelled out of.
