In the original RPG Gacha game's story, Gran is the male protagonist of Granblue Fantasy. He is the son of a famous skyfarer who disappeared, leaving only a letter's promise to come to Estalucia, the legendary island of the Astrals. One day, during an invasion from the Erste Empire, Gran dies trying to protect a fleeing Lyria, Vyrn and 
Katalina. He was resurrected back to life by Lyria and both of their souls became linked between the two. Gran decides form a crew alongside Vyrn, Lyria, and Katalina to reach the end of the skies, and recruits many units along the way.
In the all of fighting game spinoffs he appears in, Gran is a versatile Shoto character with fireball, DPs, and fast approaching moves combined with strong normals and corner pressure.
