General Info

Venom is one of the most unique characters in Guilty Gear. Venom's defining character trait is his projectile manipulation; Venom has a special which places a ball on the screen and shifts other placed balls into one of many predefined formations. The balls which Venom has placed on the screen do absolutely nothing on their own, but if hit, the ball will launch at varying speeds and angles. Balls can be hit by other balls, and Venom can even teleport and charge his balls too. This all allows him to switch from a rushdown Style of play where you constantly attack the opponent in close range fighting, never giving them an opportunity to retaliate. character to a zoner A character in a fighting game who's primary gameplan is to stay far away keep distance from their opponent. The two main sub-archetypes are projectile zoners and spacers. character in the blink of an eye.

In the story, Venom is a member of the Assassin's Guild who was ostracized and threatened by other members until Zato-1. Since then, he has been deeply indebted and in love with Zato. When Zato died in GGX, Venom seeks to preserve his legacy and to get revenge on Millia Rage. His plans are put in jeopardy when Slayer attempts to disband the Guild, forcing Venom to fight him for its leadership. Slayer purposefully loses, and Venom becomes the new leader.

During the climax of Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator-, Venom merges the Assassin's Guild with the Illyrian military, releasing the organization's entire history into public knowledge so that its members can still have a place to belong and that the slate can be wiped clean for everyone involved. He ends up facing Bedman, and with the assistance of Robo-Ky he expends all of his power into one final attack in order to defeat him. Venom barely survived and became a baker in order to fund enough money to rebuild Robo-Ky's body.
