  1. I'll run XII. It's new, I own it, and it looks pretty. But I have a few questions regarding registration since this is a side-tournament. 1. Am I going to be solely responsible for handling entry fees, or will everyone register at the same time as the other games and I'll get a list of contestants from DM in order to make the bracket? 2.May I set pot distribution? I'm honestly not expecting many people to enter, so I want to give those who do some monetary incentive. I was thinking something along the lines of: 0-8 players: Winner take all (that's 24 bills yo.) 9-16 players: 80-20 (Winner gets 21.60 for 9 players, for 10+ he will receive 24+). 17-up: 70-20-10 (Must have 19+ players for the winner to receive more than the 80/20 split). These are my suggestions for the entry fee/schedule/rule set. If something seems misguided, feel free to comment. ------ Entry Fee: $3 dollars. Start Time: 6:30 pm The King of Fighters XII: -Double Elimination tournament. -Player sets will be best 2 out of 3 Matches. -Winners/Losers Finals will be best 3 out of 5 Matches. -Each match will be best 2 out of 3 Rounds. Each individual round will be 60 seconds. -Winner of 1st match must keep their team, but may change rotation of characters. -Loser may change their team or rotation if desired. If you need any more information, feel free to ask.
  2. Sounds good. Even if you decide not to run it, I must thank you for the consideration. It was the first thing I said . PS3 and PS2.
  3. I'll run it after everyone's all salty from either: a) Eddie's unblockable setups. b) A groove. c) E. Honda's stored Oicho. d) Zoob's TF prowess. e) Being juggled to OTG combo'd into a wall FTL. FFFFFFFFFF) Mashed SRK-FADC-Ultra'd during a blockstring. So with that said, I would suggest 6:30pm or 7:00pm. What's DM's policy on bringing a TV of one's own into the venue? Also, must I inform them of my side-tournament beforehand, or do I just take matters into my own hands?
  4. Wasn't that only released in Japan...? I guess this gives me a good excuse to finally get a flip top. However, I think UM98 was released in America and I'm fairly confident that 98 in general has a lot of support (I mean, there are three rooms on GGPO specifically dedicated to this game). In any case, where there is support, I will cater. Tangent: XII seems to be a hit or a miss with the SNK crowd due to the game's incomplete nature, what with missing moves encompassing most of the cast and grapplers being toned down from their previous 1 frame throw glory. I wouldn't say XII is a game without flaws...it's far from it. [opinion]But if I had to choose which next-gen fighter was the best in terms of game play, depth, and overall balance as of now...it would be XII (I can't offer my opinion on Tekken just yet, but the combo system is hilarious).[/opinion]
  5. I will be coming, and I will bring a PS3 and a PS2 with me. I'm wondering why HDR is scheduled, but is not in the pricing information? Did you mean TF? Also, would it be ill-advised to run another side-tournament of my own? I wasn't able to put it out last time for casuals since I had to leave early, but I'd really like to see something for KoF XII. But if I have to wait until another time, that's perfectly fine. Reasoning (tl;dr warning): Since the online is beyond unacceptable and I can't seem to locate any tournaments for this game within the state (even the New England area...), the only chance for people to flesh out their competitive skills in this game would be at an event such as this. I really want to spur some support for this game, since I feel like some people merely took it at face value and abandoned it in favor for SFIV, BB, or really anything else due to the unfamiliarity most people have with the series, methinks. If I'm incorrect, please send me a formal letter of complaint to my personal secretary and I'll have her forward it to the proper authorities.
  6. I am contemplating driving down to NEC in light of Vyer's inability to do so. However, my starting point is very much south of where the existing people in need of a ride are located, so either people would need to drive as far as my area, or I'd have to go pick them up. We could also set up some kind of carpool system, if people would prefer (i.e. NH goes to MA, MA takes two cars to CT, something like that). Everyone who is in need of a ride/lodging ought to post sooner rather than later, so the overall distribution of expenses can be estimated/finalized. That room sounds too schwanky to be cheap...
  7. Mindgam3 - CT GGXX:AC and KoF XII, please.
  8. I wish to reserve a place in your temporary dwelling. Is this acceptable? Also, get hype for ACT. I'm going to bring KoF XII, and try to convince someone that it's a good game, completely undeserving of the negative press that has been thrown around.
  9. Kayin, you deserve the best of luck. I remember back when I first met you, raging because "shit's not coming out" on your modded Mayflash with the pink buttons. But since then, not only has your execution become far more consistent, but your sportsmanship as a whole improved drastically. I thoroughly enjoyed playing games with you, and I hope you find the same kind of enjoyment in California. Keep pushing yourself to be the best. I think it is fate for you to beat the Japanese. On a less melancholy note, what's going on for the rooming situation for NEC?
  10. Well, I'm certainly up for carpooling in order to save money. However, I typically have class until 4:00pm on Fridays. I could skip the last one and bump it up to 2:00pm, but any earlier and I'd have to work some things out with my professors/TA's (which is no big deal). In an ideal world, I would be able to leave late Thursday evening as you want, but I'd most likely only be able to leave Friday morning after 9:00am. As far as the return trip is concerned, I have a class at 8:00am on Monday, but I would rather skip that anyway so we can at least enjoy the ride home if we decide to leave Monday morning. This would be most excellent.
  11. So, I found out that NEC is the weekend before the week before my week of finals, so I am seriously considering attending this year. Vyers, BlueNine, and Nazgul, I believe you are all going together...? If you are carpooling, would you mind if I tagged along? Tell me what's up with the situation. The sooner I know, the sooner I can save up.
  12. Kona: I'm going to be arriving fairly early (12:00-1:00), but I wouldn't mind going out to South Hadley and picking you up when you get out of work. Just PM me with where you'd like to be picked up and we can work from there.
  13. Personally, I agree with the sentiment that Springfield or Amherst is a better location for New England as a whole. Not only are both areas within relatively acceptable driving distances for most of NE's players, Antonio's pizza is absolutely amazing. Concerning CT alone, Sarges might be good for general CT meet-ups, but anyone from MA would have quite a trip ahead of them. Also, holding them weekly like they were would only be asking for inconsistent attendance, which is what I believe led to its demise in the first place. In general, since the biggest GG scene I can think of in CT (Hartford) is located pretty well near MA, I would stick with it for now. Come to think of it, Digital Mayhem had scheduled "Fight Nights" after ACT X I believe, but I have no idea if they're still hosting them. However, each time I asked if anyone was interested on the forums, all I got were metaphorical internet tumbleweeds. Also, get hype for Saturday! Who's going?!
  14. I can't say that you're planning this last minute, but I wish I knew about this sooner. Otherwise I would have saved my "Go Home Free" card for this coming weekend. Eh, no matter. If it's going to be this weekend for sure, I'll try to finagle a ride up there.
  15. I finally got an ethernet cable for my PS3, so I'll be attending the next set of New England casuals. I also have GGPO now, so I can finally partake in this supposedly no-lag gameplay. Danny, ideally you would need only an unassembled Cthulhu kit ($25) and an Imp board ($9). However, according to Toodles' post on SRK, he has seemingly run out of kits and can only supply assembled boards (http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=162026). It's no big deal if they are assembled, but the fact that it's $20 extra for a job that takes only 15 or so minutes and contains parts which will preferably be taken off the PCB anyway would make me think twice about spending that kind of money. My next preferred reseller (http://www.modchipman.com/arcade-parts-boards-c-144_146.html) is seemingly out of stock, and lizardlick.com will make you wait until the next coming of Jesus (or the next SF) before they'll ship out your parts.
  16. Here's an update: Name: Jeremy (Mindgam3) Location: Southbury, CT (In order from left to right of decreasing skill and prowess) GG Characters: , , BB Characters: , , Other Fighting games: SFIV, 3S, KoFXII Also, since when did we have members hailing from Maine or Rhode Island? I'm interested.

    Slayer AC match vids

While certainly not as epic or humorous as the preceding movies, this is the first match video that I made, showcasing my friend's Robo Ky vs. my Slayer. Suggestions, comments, and the like would be greatly appreciated, since I know there's a lot I still have yet to learn (I also need to master playing stick somehow ). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3KiBstn5-0M
